Mammoth | 2017
Minimal, glacially paced and mournfully emotive, Mammoth’s score explores the tragedy of climate change from the sublime perspective of ‘deep time,’ and through the eyes of a father and son who have dedicated their lives to hope in the face of impossibility.
Mammoth | 2017
by Dir. Grant Slater | Music by Kyle Wilson
Mammoth tells the story of a father and son pair of renowned scientists, Sergei and Nikita Zimov and their ambitious multi-generational re-wilding project, Pleistocene Park. It was recently featured at the Guggenheim Museum in NYC as part of “Countryside, The Future.” Grant Slater’s collaborative leadership, beautiful camera work and thoughtfully paced narrative inspired a minimal and experimental score which remains a favorite of mine.
